Roundleaf Thoroughwort

Eupatorium rotundifolium

A fairly typical common name for a not-so-typical plant. Roundleaf Thoroughwort is widely distributed throughout much of the eastern US but is considered rare in Pennsylvania. With its showy, flat-topped clusters of white blooms and its broad, oval leaves, this species can add texture to a perennial border, a backyard meadow, or that tough sunny spot by your driveway. Roundleaf Thoroughwort is not commonly sold, so don’t miss your opportunity to add this lesser known species to your wildlife garden.

Conditions: Full sun; dry to medium soil, widely adaptable
Size: 1′ – 3′ height
Zone: 3 – 8
Wildlife Value: Flowers highly attractive to a variety of bees, wasps, flies, skippers, and butterflies
