Steve Longenecker
Director of Building Stewardship
Steve contributes and supervises maintenance, preservation, and new construction for the entirety of Natural Lands’ infrastructure. Notable projects include: Bear Creek management center, restoration of Idlewild’s carriage shop, two additions to Gwynedd’s management center (ADA restroom and equipment wing with rooftop solar), Bucks County Management Center, Stoneleigh’s adaptation from formal estate to public garden, rehabilitation of historic farmhouse in Chester Springs, and construction of an ADA accessible four-hundred-foot boardwalk and bridge, traversing a wetland and connecting Bryn Coed Preserve to Opalanie Park in West Vincent Township.
Prior to joining Natural Lands in 2005, Steve attended Kutztown University, where he majored in communications, holding a minor in public relations, after which he returned to his love of carpentry in the residential construction industry. He holds a home inspector’s license, is certified with InterNACHI (International Association of Certified Home Inspectors), and is certified in Lead Remediation. He currently resides in Chester County with his wife and four children, spending his evenings volunteering as Coach for the in-season sport and serving on his local township’s Rec & Park Board.
Steve’s favorite native species is White Oak—he has fond memories of time spent in a treehouse as a kid.
