Mary Beth Clay

Director, Board Relations & Governance

As director of board relations and governance, Mary Beth is the Natural Lands Board of Trustees primary point of contact. She organizes events, facilitates continuing education, and supports culture building and engagement among the Trustees. She is also the staff liaison to the Board’s Governance Committee and Executive Committee and supports Natural Lands’ president and CEO.

The majority of Mary Beth’s career has been in the technology sector, most recently as head of global communications for Ansys. Prior to that, she spent more than 20 years at Siemens, the last eight as head of communications for different divisions of the company.

Her favorite place to be outside is Natural Lands’ Bryn Coed Preserve. “I feel most connected to nature there.”

Mary Beth holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Dickinson College. She earned certification in circular economy and sustainability studies from the University of Cambridge Judge Business School.
