American Ipecac
Porteranthus stipulatus
A close relative of the more commonly available Bowman’s Root, American Ipecac begins blooming in early spring with deep pink buds opening to delightfully airy star-shaped flowers. The elegant flowers contrast beautifully against the coarse, serrated leaves and come autumn, the foliage transforms into flames of fiery orange, setting your garden ablaze with perennial fall color.
