Seeding Grasslands With No-Till Drill

We use this no-till drill for seeding native meadows.

I spent the day yesterday with the no-till seeder planting 10 acres of crop fields back to grasslands of native species. The mix has some wildflowers too and we’ll be augmenting that with some hand-sown patches. Although I was alone on the tractor this was a cooperative effort: many thanks to my colleagues Sean Quinn, for showing me how to calibrate the seeder and David Casteneda for loaning the tractor and both for transporting the tractor and seeder to Green Hills Preserve.
