Access to the great outdoors, close to home. Natural Lands’ nature preserves and public garden span two states and 13 counties. Miles of hiking trails connect you to wildflower-filled meadows, shady forests, boulder-strewn stream valleys, wetlands teeming with life, vibrant native plant gardens, and coastal marshland habitat. Our 23,000+ acres of open space is open to all and always free to visit.

We host a wide variety of fun and informative events on our nature preserves, for kids or kids at heart, all year round. Birding and wildflower walks along the nature trails, yoga in the garden, live music in the meadow, and much more. Many of our events are free or low cost, and members enjoy discounts and early registration.

Plant a tree, help at events, clean up hiking trails, and much more. You can give a few hours at an organized volunteer event at one of our nature preserves, or make a deeper, on-going commitment through our Force of Nature® volunteer program. We also offer corporate volunteer opportunities.

Our preserves are dog friendly, but we have some simple (non-negotiable) rules.
