Green Through Google Earth
Google Earth™ is a powerful and inexpensive tool that can enable your municipality or organization to better communicate with colleagues and constituents, and to feel even more confident about your land use decisions. Imagine creating a virtual walking tour of your park system, overlaying an open space plan on top of aerial imagery of your township, or helping local residents envision a zoning change by creating 3D buildings in the landscape. All of this and more is possible through Google Earth and Google Sketch Up™. In fact, Google Earth offers much of the power of GIS mapping systems without the expense or specialized training.
Natural Lands Trust can provide comprehensive installation and training to help your staff:
Utilize Google Earth as a planning tool by overlaying maps and plans, and sharing dynamic geographic information within your organization- Harness Google Earth’s many tools to communicate interactively with boards, residents, and others through maps and photos of your parks, historic sites, and other local resources
