Fulshaw Craeg Preserve
Salford Township
Montgomery County, PA
218 Acres
Tom Kershner, Preserve Manager
215-699-6751

The 218 acres of Fulshaw Craeg Preserve are situated in a wild and rugged valley, the sides of which are strewn with large boulders. Ridge Valley Creek, edged by beautiful wildflower meadows, runs through the property.

History
The history of Fulshaw Craeg is rich with lore of Native American encampments and goldmines, and the preserve is even rumored to have been the hideout of a local bandit. The initial 108 acres of the preserve were purchased by Natural Lands Trust in 1988, and the purchase of additional properties brought the preserve to its current 218 acres.

Highlights
The wildflower meadows along the stream valley are home to a wide variety of spectacular species, including indian paintbrush, showy goldenrod, and fringed gentians. The boulders on the hills have created a network of caves and fortresses, making Fulshaw Craeg one of the most beautiful preserves in Natural Lands Trust’s preserve system.

Facilities
Due to limited facilities and/or ecological or donor restrictions, this preserve is open by special permission only.
