The 609 acres of our Burden Hill Forest Preserve is part of a relatively unfragmented block of Oak-Pine forest. The preserve is still a growing preserve, as we work with landowners in the area to protect their land.

Highlights
Burden Hill is an important stopover point for neotropical bird species on their migration from their winter home in the tropics to their summer breeding grounds. These species travel north and inland following the Delaware Estuary, stopping over in the Burden Hills before moving further north to their breeding grounds.

Facilities
The Preserve has several walking trails.
