Township supervisors passed a resolution of support for the Hopewell Big Woods Project aimed at permanent protection and stewardship of more than 15,000 acres of forest land.

Jim Thorne, director of research and education at Natural Lands Trust and coordinator of the Hopewell Big Woods Project, outlined details of the project to supervisors, explaining that the huge forested parcel lies across the boundary line between Chester and Berks counties. He noted that French Creek State Park lies in the center of the large tract.
